IMCA has published minor revisions of its eCMID and eMISW vessel inspection templates, addressing the latest feedback received since a broader revision six months ago.
Over 1500 vessels worldwide are currently covered by a live inspection report, providing a safety management system health check for both operators and clients. The inspection templates are reviewed and updated at least annually to reflect technological progress and regulatory developments, plus feedback received from the active community of vessel operators, inspectors and other stakeholders.
The eCMID template features updates regarding unattended machinery spaces, DP trials and event reporting, plus minor edits to questions, guidance notes and references.
Both templates also now include an ‘Additional Images’ appendix (for eMISW, this is the only change).
Inspectors have long asked for the ability to upload multiple images in support of certain key findings (normally limited to one per question), while vessel operators and their clients have asked to keep reports concise and easily digestible. Balancing these requirements, the new optional appendix provides the ability to add a limited number of additional captioned photographs, which can also be used for more general images not linked to a specific question.
